The
main research interests of Dr. Claudio Zaccone include the role of
humification processes in affecting the accumulation of inorganic
and organic pollutants along ombrotrophic bog profiles, as well as
paleovegetational and paleoclimatic records. In few words,
his research is mainly focused in understanding if, during decay/humification
processes, an enrichment/depletion of some macromolecules and/or a
migration of low molecular weight substances and/or an isotopic
ratios shift occurr, thus resulting in uncorrected reconstructions
of both anthropogenic inputs and environmental changes.

the characterization of recycled biomasses of different origin;

and inorganic amendments in agriculture (compost, sludges and
wastewaters); and the
translocation of pollutants in the soil-plant system.
